I thought i would write this diary on the progress I’m making on my quest to get a free iphone.
I started working on getting an iphone for myself back in November 2007, I know this seems a long time but you will learn that freebie hunting needs patience. After what seemed like an age finally on Saturday the 8th of march i had all the referrals that i needed (12 ) to get my 8gb iphone, So off i went to complete my own offer so that i can claim my iphone.
When i logged on to the site on the Sunday to complete my offer i noticed that they had added the 16gb iphone to the site for only 2 more referrals (14), So i have now decided to wait a little bit longer and go for the 16gb version.
As it stands at the moment i have 13 referrals with 1 more referral pending plus I’m still waiting for my own offer to credit, This can take up to 5 working days but if it still hasn’t credited after 5 days this can be easily rectified by submitting a support ticket to the freebie network.
I’m going to sign off just now but as Arnold Schwarzenegger would say “I’ll be back”

It has now been 7 days since i completed my own offer (skillground) and i have still not received my credit, So i have sent a support ticket with all the relevant info and screenshots.
If giveaway stay true to form then i should have a reply on Wednesday

Just checked my status on my iPhone and my own offer has been manually credited
All i have to do is wait on my last referral to go green, This is a trade I’m doing so it should green soon, Then i can get my account verified.

I have just completed my last trade and hit the verify button, So fingers crossed all my referrals go through ok on Sunday.

Well i just checked my iPhone.giveaway account and one of my referrals has been put on hold 
so its back to looking for my last referral. As this is the last verifications this month it means that i will miss out on my free iPhone this month but i will get it next month if i get my last referral.
As always i will keep you up to date with my progress
Ps I could have just changed my gift to the 8gb iphone and got that instead but i will be patient and wait another month and get the 16gb iPhone, And who knows maybe by then they will have released the 3g version of the iPhone by then

The good news is that i now have all 14 referrals again the bad news is that i have to wait till the 13/4/08 till the next verification :( so all being well i’ll have my brand spanking new 16gb iPhone by the beginning of May.

The time is 22.45 and i have just sailed through verification this time my 16gb iPhone should be with me on the 2nd of May.

Well folks today was the day i got my shiney new 16gb iPhone from iPhone.giveaway.
It took me 5 minutes to unlock it and i haven’t stopped using it since.
You really need to get one of these phones.
I think you should hold out until they bring out a 3G version
thats the only thing stopping me from getting one just now
Yeah i here they are bringing one out but to be honest i have 3g with the phone i have just now and i’ve noticed the 3g coverage in my area is pretty bad, I mean i can get 3g in my living room but if i walk 4 feet into my kitchen and i lose it.

You said you had to unlock the phone when you received it. So to what network was the phone locked?
Can you please tell me how did you unlock it? You said you did it in 5 minutes

Hi sorry for the delay in answering your question the iphone was locked to O2 but i used a bit of free software called iLiberty+ to unlock it.
Remember the new 3g iPhone has not been released yet so it may take a couple of weeks for someone to unlock it.

So do you mean to say these phones come locked to specific network? I mean i use 3 mobile, so the new 3G phone would basically be useless if someone cannot unlock it.
3 was the only network that wouldn’t work on the old iphone because the phone wasn’t 3g but with the new phone being 3g i’m sure you will be able to use your 3 sim in it
